Donating to the Delta Theta Sigma Educational Foundation
The DTS Educational Foundation of Gamma Chapter, Inc. was founded to provide scholarships to Active Members of Delta Theta Sigma Gamma Chapter, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The DTS Educational Foundation was founded and held its first banquet in 1980 and awarded the first Russel Ballweg Memorial Scholarship in 1981.
The DTS Educational Foundation currently awards two major scholarships to members of the DTS Active Chapter. The Russel Ballweg Memorial Scholarship Award is awarded annually. The Dallas Borneman Brotherhood Award is awarded bi-annually. Additionally, the foundation supports Freshman recruitment scholarships awarded by the Active Chapter.
The DTS Educational Foundation is a charitable 501(c)3 non-profit organization as designated by the IRS and all donations are fully tax deductible. Please consider supporting the DTS Educational Foundation. Donations can made to support the scholarship program or support house maintenance and repair projects. Donating to the UW Spitzer & Wieckert Funds
The major goal of the Alumni Board and the DTS Educational Foundation Board is to enhance membership to DTS and encourage members and prospective members to live in the house. We believe that an effective way to accomplish this goal is to offer scholarships for which preference is given to prospective and current members who plan to live in the house.
There are two endowment funds with the UW Foundation designated to financially support CALS students who are current or prospective members of DTS. They are the Robert R. Spitzer Memorial and David A. Wieckert Memorial funds. The Wieckert fund was recently created and the first scholarship for $1,250 will be awarded for the 2022-2023 academic year. The three Spitzer scholarships are for approximately $2,000 each. Starting with scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year, the DTS scholarship committee, not the UW Foundation as was the case in the past, will select the recipients with preference given to prospective and current DTS members who plan to live in the house.
Making tax deductible contribution to these endowment funds, will help to increase the number of scholarships we can offer.
